Children's Art Classes in Guildford (Ages 6–12)
Welcome to Happy Art Club, a small and friendly art club in Guildford where children can explore their creativity, learn new skills and create artwork they feel proud of.
Classes are kept small, with a maximum of 7–8 children, allowing plenty of individual attention and support. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where children feel confident to experiment, ask questions, try new ideas and develop their own creative voice.
At Happy Art Club, I focus on curiosity, exploration and enjoyment of the creative process. While I always prepare exciting projects and themes, children are encouraged to make creative choices and follow their own interests. They can choose one of the projects I've prepared or develop an idea inspired by their favourite animals, hobbies, books or imagination. Projects are adapted to suit each child's age, experience and interests.
Each session begins with a short creative challenge where everyone explores the same theme, technique or activity. Sometimes children work from observation, sometimes they respond to a creative prompt, and occasionally they work together on a collaborative piece. These activities help children build confidence, practise new skills and share ideas before moving on to their individual projects.
Throughout the year we explore a wide range of materials and techniques, including drawing, painting, watercolour, acrylics, collage, mixed media, printmaking, clay, Modroc, soft pastels and oil pastels.
My goal is for every child to enjoy being creative, learn something new and leave each session feeling proud of what they have made. By encouraging curiosity, experimentation and individual expression, I hope to help children build confidence in both their artistic skills and their own ideas.
Weekly Classes
Our weekly classes are perfect for children who enjoy developing their skills over time. Projects often take several sessions to complete, allowing children to explore ideas in greater depth and learn new techniques at their own pace.
Holiday Workshops
During school holidays we run fun 2-hour workshops where children can complete a project in a single session and take their artwork home the same day. Each workshop offers a choice of 2D and 3D projects, with new themes throughout the holidays.

Who we are
Happy Art Club grew out of a dream to create a joyful, welcoming space where art feels exciting, playful, and full of possibility. That dream has been shaped by years of teaching in schools and private studios across New York and London. I’m also a practicing artist with an MFA, and I bring both my love of teaching and my passion for creating into every single class.
At Happy Art Club, our sessions are all about creativity, curiosity, and imagination.
Each week brings something new to explore — painting, drawing, clay, printmaking, mixed media, or a fresh new technique. I guide everyone step by step, encouraging self-expression, confidence, and skill-building in a warm, supportive atmosphere.
Whether you join us for weekly classes or one-off workshops, Happy Art Club is a place to make art, unwind, connect, and enjoy the creative process.
Happy Art Club is a space where creativity has no limits — a place to play, learn, relax, and feel inspired. We’d love to welcome you into our creative community!
